Beacon is the title sponsor of the premier British Supersport motorcycle
race team – Relentless Suzuki by TAS.
The British Supersport Championship
is an action-packed professional sporting series that boasts an international
field of competitors riding 180mph 600cc Supersport bikes. Close racing,
plenty of overtaking and sheer excitement mark the British Supersport Championship
for the elite only.
TAS, which is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, is
the official Suzuki GB Supersport team. It is in its second season of short
circuit racing following an incredibly successful apprenticeship in road
racing, where it achieved success at the Isle of Man TT races, the North
West 200 and the Irish domestic championships.
It was this successful track
record that attracted Beacon to become involved with TAS, as it displays
the characteristics that Beacon itself has become associated with: excellent
management structure, to be the best in its chosen field and matching the
right person to the right job.
In 2007, the energy drink Relentless joined
the Tas team and the team is now known as Relentless Suzuki.
The Beacon
Relentless Suzuki team consists of two riders; Ballymena man, Michael Laverty
and Newry lad, Ian Lowry.
Director of Beacon, Ian Glen, is delighted to be involved with TAS. He said: “We
are the title sponsor of one of Britain’s
best Supersport teams and that is a massive coup for us. TAS is striving
for success in all it does in a highly competitive arena, which very much
epitomises our own ethos.”
The British Supersport Championship is a 13–round
series that is shown live on Sky Sports from each venue.
