Archibald returns to TAS
TAS Suzuki are pleased to announce the signing
of Ballymoney rider Adrian Archibald for the forthcoming Isle of Man TT
Races. Archibald is no stranger to the TAS Suzuki set–up and having won three Superbike TT races under
the guidance of Philip and Hector Neill in the past few seasons, the 35–year–old
father of two will strengthen Suzukis line–up when he takes to the
grid on June 3rd. Adrian will partner Kiwi Bruce Anstey who is fresh from
his brace of wins at the Kennedy International North West 200, and Ryan
Farquhar who is currently out injured will also be in attendance, albeit
in a team PR roll.
At this late stage Archibald will not get to ride the stable of TAS Suzuki
machinery until he samples the high–speed descent on Bray Hill during
the opening practice session, but Team Manager Philip Neill has every confidence
in his new signing.
Philip Neill – Team Manager
“Obviously we are pleased to have Adrian back on board for the TT, although
I am very flattered by the quality of riders who approached us regarding a
ride in the Isle of Man. What I would like to state, is that Ryan Farquhar
is still very much a part of our set–up at TAS Suzuki and Adrian is not
here to replace the Dungannon man or Bruce Anstey in any way. Adrian will ride
equal machinery to Bruce at the Isle of Man TT Races in the Superbike, Superstock
and Supersport classes; we will then review the situation with regards to the
rest of the season and the Ulster Grand Prix.
We are confident that Adrian can perform at the highest level and although
he will not have ridden our bikes beforehand, he has prior knowledge of
the machinery and great experience around the circuit, which is a successful
combination.”
Adrian Archibald
“I’m delighted to be back on Suzuki machinery for the TT and more
importantly with TAS. I wasn’t happy after the North West 200 and felt
that the package wasn’t competitive enough with my former team, but hopefully
we have parted company on amicable terms. I contacted Philip to see if there
was anything we could do together as I had considered sitting out the TT, so
obviously I’m delighted to be back with the team at TAS Suzuki. I feel
the package is the best one available and one that can provide me with the
opportunity to win races on the Isle of Man.”
