On the eve of the second round of the British Supersport Championship at Donington
Park, TAS Suzuki manager Philip Neill has increased the size of his team by
signing former trainee fighter pilot Mark Miller from America.
The 26–year–old former AMA race winner will compete at the Kennedy
Group International North West 200 and Isle of Man TT road races alongside Irishman
Ryan Farquhar and Kiwi Bruce Anstey. This will be Miller’s debut at both
road circuits and Philip Neill is confident that the Long Beach resident will
be a good addition to his already super–strong line up, as Suzuki look
to showcase their new GSX–R750 Suzuki.
The team have also been burning the midnight oil since the opening round of the
British Championship at Brands Hatch, which should see Tom Sykes back on course
and fighting for a win this coming weekend at Donington. Both Sykes and Lowry
are fully fit and raring to go on Friday.
Philip Neill
“The talks have been ongoing for quite a while and yes I am pretty excited
to have Mark onboard. He is a rider with a lot of experience having ridden officially
for Suzuki in the USA and also won races and championships at AMA level. This
will be his first visit to both the North West 200 and the TT, so we will be
looking for a steady performance. He will ride the Superstock races at both events,
after which, we will discuss the possibility of future rides with TAS Suzuki.”
Mark Miller
“I’m absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to ride
at the Isle of Man TT and North West 200 especially with a team like TAS Suzuki.
I have raced and stood on the podium at Macau, so I do have some road racing
experience, but I’m looking forward to riding the new GSX–R750 Suzuki
at both events. Hopefully I can put this opportunity to good use and become a
regular on the International Road Racing arena.”
